In October 17-23 , 2010 The Delegation of Tbilisi University “Metekhi” visited Singapore Higher Education Management symposium. The above mentioned symposium’s main aim was the studying of effective instruments of the University administration, deepening of theoretical knowledge, observing the material-technical base, moreover, the goal of the visit was the establishment of the future perspectives of the University “Metekhi” and Singapore Universities in terms of participation in educational programs.

On 19 May 2010 the President of European Institute of Education (EIE) – Antonello Cappitta visited Tbilisi University “Metekhi” . Joint educational and student exchange programs were presented and discussed at the meeting. According to the new initiatives Tbilisi University “Metekhi” will implement joint educational programs together with EIE; Georgian students will be able to take the courses in European Institute of Education, Malta.

In April 11-17, 2010 the capital of Japan, Tokyo, hosted the seminar “Managing effectiveness of higher Educational Institutions – Experience of Japan. The seminar was organized under the aegis of international educational organization “Global Conferences”. The aim of the seminar was to present the managing systems of higher educational institutions to the representatives of different higher educational institutions from all over the world. The delegation of Tbilisi University “Metekhi”, comprising the rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Manana Kirtbaia and the head of International Relations Departments, Prof. Dr. Erekle Astakhishvili, was invited to this particular event.

On the 13th January, 2010 Prof. Dr. Larry Jones, director of London Academy for Higher Education, paid a short visit to Tbilisi University “Metekhi”. The aim of the visit was the acquaintance with the university and identification of the potential ways of beneficial cooperation. The guests met the university authorities alongside the deans and the administrative staff, having the possibility to present the activities of London Academy of Higher Education. Two higher educational institutions established the agreement of cooperation highlighting the implementation of joint BA and MA degrees and student mobility program between the partner sides. Within the scope of the agreement, the Georgian students will have the possibility to attend English Language courses and summer school sessions in London.

Good news from England! By the decision of Europe Business Assembly, Tbilisi University “Metekhi” was awarded European Quality Award, an international award for aspiration to achieve high quality in accordance with European Standard.

Two representatives from the Project Twinning CEIBAL project – “Capacity Enhancement for the Bologna Action Lines in Georgia” visited Tbilisi University “Metekhi”. The Project is dedicated to the implementation of Bologna Process in Georgia. Main objective of the guests was to visit the University and to familiarize themselves with the processes that are under way in Tbilisi University “Metekhi” and their conformity with Bologna Process.

Workshop “Sculpture and sculpture works in Florence” was held on November 21-28, 2009 in Florence, Italy. A group of students from Tbilisi University “Metekhi” took part in the workshop.

Representatives of the EU Monitoring Mission Mtskheta Office visited Tbilisi University “Metekhi” on November 13, 2009. EUMM started on October 1, 2009 in Georgia. The guests had a meeting with the University students from various departments. The EU representatives made presentations on the field of their relevant competences. Presentations covered the issues such as EUMM mandate in Georgia, their scope of activities, objectives, results achieved so far, future prospects and vision.
