The student organization in Tbilisi University “Metekhi” is an independent union aiming students’ active participation in the university life. The student organization is promoting the formation of mobility groups taking part in the governing process of the university, academic process and in defense of students’ rights.

The main objective of the student organization is to create a democratic atmosphere, to defense students’ academic, social and political rights as well, to implement legitimacy of students’ rights in conformity with Bologna Process and to become a joint member of the European educational system.

• In March 25, 2008 “Metekhi” held the election for the postition of the head of the Student Organization. 30 students from all the faculties of the university nominated their candidatures for the above mentioned position. By a majority of votes, the 3rd year student of the Law Faculty Giorgi Matiashvili became the head of the student organization.
• In April 18, 2008 student organization with the support of the rectortae orginized a charity event to help the orphans and the students from “Metekhi” held the concert for the children.
• In May 4, 2008 the traditional excursion tour was organized for the freshemore students. This particular activity aimed at visting the historical places of Georgia and also this was a wonderful opportunity for the freshemore students to get in touch closer.
• In May 10-12, 2008 football championship was held within Tbilisi University “Metekhi”. Students from different faculties took part in the competition. The 4th year students of Business Administration Faculty won the championship.
• In May 23, 2008 the traditional VII student conference was orginized.
